Author and Academic Adventurer
I have long been in the habit of making periodic mass emails about recent activities to a long list of subjects hopefully appreciative friends and acquaintances.
Most of these personal postings were written in the face of grinding frustration: modern journalism has changed so much over the past decade that I often find it almost impossible to "place" a story or OpEd the way I used to do so,
So I hit started to hit the mass-email 'send' button.
This might irritated some.
But just as often, my friends send me praise for my work and invite me to post more, with the understanding that these 'blogs' are merely a first draft of chapters of future books.
Over the years these have included SitReps (situational reports) from the Gezi Riots in Istanbul (2013), the Syrian Refugee Crisis in Greek Lesbos (2015/6), the Standing Rock North Dakota oil-pipeline stand-off (2018) and a weird and wide and wild assortment of different informational stuff, including CORVID-19 stuff in Azerbaijan and Montana.
Implicite in this Public Intellectual equation is that I cannot continue to do this sort of weird informational altruism forever.
Thus, I have added donations button to this bar in the hope that readers will show their appreciation by sending me coin once in awhile.
Suggested donations range from $1 a raw rant to $2 a refined chapter to $3 a video viewing to $5 a complete book--and more on an annual basis, should you want!
The PayPal button should be servicable soon.
Thanks!
